Dipping too Quick on the Jerk

One of the most common problems when performing a jerk occurs in the dip. This problem is dipping to fast. When you dip too fast the bar will typically come a bit off of the shoulders and when the bottom of the dip is reached the bar will crash on the shoulders. This causes a loss of momentum and limits the amount of weight that can be jerked. An easy way to fix this would be to cue the athletes either to dip a bit slower on the way down or to tell them to control the down portion of the dip. Slow down explode up.
