Chris Hinshaw


Chris Hinshaw specializes in building aerobic capacity coaching and programming for CrossFit athlete.

In 2016, Hinshaw coached all three CrossFit Games Champions: Men’s Individual, Women’s Individual, and Affiliate Cup Team. In addition, he coached several teenage and masters’ CrossFit Games Champions. In 2015, he successfully coached over 60 CrossFit Games athletes including Rich, Jason, Mat, Katrin, Sara, Camille, Nic, Ron, Angelo, Shawn, Chyna, Noah, Brooke, Björgvin Jacob, Alex, Michele, Lindsey, Emily, Stacie, Nichole, Alessandra, Neal and many others.

Hinshaw is a former All-American collegiate swimmer and an experienced professional triathlete with top international finishes including a 2nd place overall finish at the Hawaiian Ironman World Championships, a 2-time member of Team USA at the Hawaiian Ironman, a 2nd place overall finish at Ironman World Championships in Canada, and a 1st place overall finish at Ironman Brazil.

Hinshaw has a recent ran a 60-second 400m, sub 5-minute mile and 17:10 in the 5000m plus 7:06 in the 2000m row.

CrossFit HQ has selected Hinshaw as their Subject Matter Expert (“SME”) in Aerobic Capacity. He is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, and is also certified in CrossFit mobility, the CrossFit competitor course, and CrossFit running, He is a certified RockTape doc, coaches at NorCal CrossFit, leads the CrossFit Aerobic Capacity Course, and owns

Hinshaw graduated in 1989 with a BS in Business Administration and a Concentration in Finance from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. His favorite cheat meal is Coco-Cola (is that considered food?), which is followed closely by Ruffles (low fat) potato chips and onion dip. He was born in Mountain View, CA and currently resides in Menlo Park, CA.
