Jerk Recoveries, aka Torture Rack, is an exercise that many forget or do not know about that can be a game changer for your jerk. Torture rack is used for athletes that consistently drive the weight out front and athletes that consistently press out weights. Torture rack provides the athlete a way to get the bar to a solid overhead position, and recover from that position with heavy weights, safely. An athlete should be able to triple atleast 110% of their best jerk on this exercise, and then perform heavy singles till failure. A key note to this exercise is that even though the weight is in a stationary position on the rack and isn’t moved till the athlete recovers, it is essential that the athlete “sticks” the jerk aggressively and drives underneath the bar with the same amount of aggression and intensity as if they were performing a regular jerk.
